How to remove a background

Is it really free?

Yes. Remove backgrounds and download full-size pictures without signing up and without a watermark.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The AI model runs inside your browser on your own device. The first time, the model file is downloaded from this website and kept by your browser, so later visits start faster.

Why is the first photo slower?

The AI model is downloaded once (about 50 MB for best quality, 5 MB for fast). After that it is ready at once.

Can I make a passport or visa photo?

Yes – open the ID photo tab, choose the size and background colour, place the face in the oval and download the photo or a 6×4 in print sheet. Check your country's rules before printing.

The edge is not perfect. What can I do?

Use the Brush tab: Erase removes more, Restore brings parts back. Zoom in for fine work. The Edge slider makes the cut softer.

Is there an API for developers?

It is coming soon – remove backgrounds from your own app or website with one HTTP request, with a free API key to start. See the API page.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Open this website in your phone's browser (Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet). You can also add it to your home screen: it then opens like an app.
